Pilea, Ellen

Scientific Name: Pilea cadierei 'Ellen'
Common Name: Ellen Pilea, Silver Plated Pilea

Pilea's are a very popular genus of foliage houseplants. These plants hail from the nettle family, but they lack the stinging hairs commonly seen, making them a perfectly pet-safe plant.

This unique Pilea is known for its stunning metallic leaves. Varying in shades of silver and green, the metallic foliage shines with the unique texture of a Pilea. These will grow 6-12" tall and wide in a dense mound.

Basic Care Notes: Medium to bright indirect light. These like their soil to stay evenly moist without being soggy. Make sure to have a well-draining soil with a mix of coir for water retention. These thrive in a more humid environment, so give them a friend or a pebble tray to promote the humidity. Rotate your plant regularly to keep it from growing lopsided.
