Philodendron, Congo Green Marble Variegated
Scientific Name: Philodendron Congo Green Marble
Common Name: Philodendron Congo Green Marble
Philodendrons are a very popular and easy-care houseplant with a ton of variety across the different species within the family. They all come from tropical or subtropical climates and love humidity (and are great plants to have in your bathroom as a result). Each Philodendron has its own growth pattern and leaf style, which makes these all the more fun to collect! Some are natural trailers or climbers, and others grow straight up or even creep, making them an incredibly versatile and stylish houseplant across the board.
The Green Congo Marble is a cultivated hybrid that is bred for its unstable variegation from the Philodendron Green Congo. There is a variety of variegation that can occur in these plants, ranging from a slight mottling to completely yellow patches.
Basic needs: Bright, indirect light; avoid direct sunlight as their leaves can burn from sun exposure. Philodendrons tolerate a range of watering schedules but prefers to be watered when the top 2 inches of soil is dry. They also love humidity, so misting them regularly is great. PRO TIP: as epiphytes, many Philodendrons love to grow vertically -- try giving your Philo a moss pole to mimic its natural habitat of growing against and around trees!
