Since then, ferns have become far more accessible and are very popular additions to indoor plant collections around the world. Ferns can give your indoor (and outdoor) space a touch of tropical or evergreen forest vibes. An added bonus is that nearly all ferns are fairly low maintenance and thrive in a variety of conditions. 

This prized pet-safe plant hails from Mt. Emei in China. It features ribbon-like leaves with horizontal yellow stripes. Thriving in moist, well-draining soil, this fern could reach up to 2' tall.

Basic Care Notes: Low to medium indirect light, keep evenly moist but not saturated. Ferns prefer humidity, but don't want to be soaking wet, either. Think forest floor-conditions, dappled lighting, natural humidity.
