These dark, velvety, very fragrant flowers have seduced gardeners and rosarians alike for more than half a century. There is a bit of mystery about the Italian hybridizer of this very popular rose as he is almost impossible to find references for and his name is usually misspelled in most rose catalogs – Malandrone.
