Begonia, Tiger Paws
Scientific Name: Begonia 'Tiger Paws'
Common Name: Eyelash Begonia
Begonias are beloved houseplants, primarily famous for their incredibly unique foliage variations and variegations, from polka dots to fuzzy (or spiky!) leaves. Begonias tend to be slightly high-maintenance, and are generally considered to be a little more advanced of a houseplant, but don't let that stop you from trying!
A compact Begonia, the Tiger Paws is a very easy-going houseplant, much easier to care for than the fussy Begonia Rex. Featuring brown and bronze leaves, the edges have distinct white hairs, giving it the nickname of the Eyelash Begonia.
Basic Needs: Bright, indirect light. Keep out of direct sunlight in order to keep from scorching the leaves. A moderate to high humidity is appreciated, so give them friends or a pebble tray. PRO TIP: to grow a more evenly bushy begonia, rotate your pot every week so a different side is exposed to light-- this will encourage more even growth from all sides!
