Begonia, Maple Leaf
Scientific Name: Begonia dregei
Common Name: Maple Leaf Begonia
Begonias are beloved houseplants, primarily famous for their incredibly unique foliage variations and variegations, from polka dots to fuzzy (or spiky!) leaves. Begonias tend to be slightly high-maintenance, and are generally considered to be a little more advanced of a houseplant, but don't let that stop you from trying!
Native to South Africa, the Maple Leaf Begonia features tiny lobed leaves that resemble maple trees. They have a caudex that stores water much like a bonsai does.
Basic Needs: Bright, indirect light. Keep out of direct sunlight in order to keep from scorching the leaves. A well-draining soil is a must for these as they hate being waterlogged
