Begonia, Exotica
Scientific Name: Begonia Brevirimosa 'Exotica'
Common Name: Exotica Begonia
Begonias are beloved houseplants, primarily famous for their incredibly unique foliage variations and variegations, from polka dots to fuzzy (or spiky!) leaves. Begonias tend to be slightly high-maintenance, and are generally considered to be a little more advanced of a houseplant, but don't let that stop you from trying!
These Begonias produce large wing-shaped leaves, that grow up to 10" in length. They grow vivid dark green, almost black, leaves with metallic pink stripes.
Basic Needs: A high humidity of greater than 60% is required for these to thrive. Bright, indirect light. Keep out of direct sunlight in order to keep from scorching the leaves. PRO TIP: to grow a more evenly bushy begonia, rotate your pot every week so a different side is exposed to light-- this will encourage more even growth from all sides!
