The Ficus genus is a vast group of 800-900 plants that originate from many continents around the world. They started to gain popularity as indoor plants about 200 years ago during the Victorian era (which is when a lot of plants made their way indoors and became popular as living decorations). From the Fiddle Leaf Fig to the Mosaic Fig or Ficus Triangularis, there are a multitude of beautiful and unique Ficus' which is a large part of what makes them so popular.
The Benjamin Ficus is native to southeastern Asia and Australia. It has glossy green oval-shaped leaves that come to a point. New leaves start as a light green and become dark green as they mature.
Basic Care Info: The Benjamin Ficus needs medium to bright indirect light, and can tolerate lower light conditions. However, these do not like change, and if you move them, they may drop old leaves and produce new ones that are used to the new location. Well draining soil, water when top 2+ inches are dry, do not overwater. These would tolerate drying out better than being overwatered.
