Scientific name: Callisia repens
Common name: Turtle Vine, Creeping Inchplant

Originally found in Central and South America, Callisia have taken the houseplant world by storm due to their low-maintenance nature and lovely foliage! This plant is not only beautiful but has a rich history of healing as well, and has long been revered for its antifungal and antiviral properties in medicine. Callisia grows quickly and exhibits either a trailing or creeping growth pattern; its dense foliage will spill, spread, and fill any pot with color and joy!

The Turtle Vine houseplant has captured the hearts of many houseplant collectors, both beginner and advanced alike! The delicacy of the turtle vine is simultaneously simple and mesmerizing; with tiny bright green leaves and deep purple stems and undersides, every angle of this plant inspires a new appreciation for the small and special details around us.

Basic Needs: Callisia prefer bright, indirect light (no direct sun on these beautiful leaves!). Due to its succulent nature, let soil mostly dry out before watering then water thoroughly, avoiding the leaves if possible. Average humidity is okay, but they would love a little humidity boost in the winter (humidifier, pebble tray, etc.).

***Due to the unique nature of plants, the one we carefully choose for you won't look exactly like the photos- but it will be just as beautiful!
