Fern, Lemon Button
Scientific Name: Nephrolepis cordifolia 'Duffii'
Common Name: Lemon Button Fern, button sword fern
The tradition of ferns as houseplants gained popularity in the mid- to late-1840's when wealthy homeowners would decorate their homes with them. Since then, ferns have become far more accessible and are very popular additions to indoor plant collections around the world. Ferns can give your indoor (and outdoor) space a touch of tropical or evergreen forest vibes. An added bonus is that nearly all ferns are fairly low maintenance and thrive in a variety of conditions.
This fern is (as its name implies) cute as a button! A dwarf variety of the ever-popular Boston fern, the Lemon Button fern features small, round leaves and a compact shape. More forgiving than its other fern relatives, this is a wonderfully adorable, easy-care houseplant that is perfect for any home!
Basic Care Notes: Provide medium indirect light, keep evenly moist but not saturated. Ferns prefer humidity, but don't want to be soaking wet, either. Think forest floor-conditions, dappled lighting, natural humidity. Never let your fern fully dry out!
